GENERAL
Your reservation is not guaranteed until you have paid the invoice and we have received the funds. Please do not book any trip until you have received a booking confirmation from us.
When you book a trip with Grayhound Ventures AB, you accept the trip on the terms and conditions set out below. This contract is governed by Swedish law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts with respect to any claims, disputes, or other matters arising from the contract.
The following items are included for each sailing guest: bedding and linen (excluding towels); food on board; use of the ship's oilskins (excluding shoes); all safety equipment; life jackets and harnesses; mooring and fuel fees.
The following items are not included: all meals taken ashore, including lunches if we are ashore during the trip; all shore visits; alcohol; travel to and from the vessel (we sometimes have to take a water taxi); and personal travel insurance.
We strive to sail Grayhound whenever possible, taking into account current and forecast weather conditions, the capacity of the combined guest and professional crew, and the waters in which we sail. We endeavor to accommodate all reasonable requests that guests may have; however, the captain's decision is final in all matters.
GRAYHOUND VENTURES AB UNDERTAKES TO:
Ensure that the vessel will be under the command of a suitably qualified person, supported by the necessary crew, in accordance with UK maritime law;
Ensure that all firefighting, lifesaving, and safety equipment on board Grayhound complies with legal requirements;
Ensure that all risk assessments and policies are up to date and reviewed regularly;
Announce the date, time, and location of embarkation and disembarkation on the online passenger portal; Publish any changes in the "Notes" section of this portal; and announce these changes by email;
Cancel a voyage for any reason beyond its control, including, but not limited to, extreme weather conditions, when this reason may endanger the safety of the vessel and crew; subsequently issue a credit note, but otherwise accept no liability whatsoever;
Reject any booking for any reason when, in the opinion of Grayhound Ventures AB, such booking may affect or endanger the safety of Grayhound and anyone on board; Ensure that all passengers are properly briefed and trained before departure. This may take a variable amount of time depending on the group and the proposed itinerary. The captain will not depart until satisfied that everyone is fully briefed and ready.
All of the above commitments are for the well-being and safety of everyone on board.
AS A GUEST PASSENGER, YOU MUST:
Provide the passenger's complete personal information in the online passenger portal at least two weeks before the trip start date;
Inform Grayhound Ventures AB in writing of any changes in your personal health between booking and the start of the trip;
Accept the assigned accommodation;
Purchase adequate travel insurance (see the section below on insurance);
Follow any instructions or directions given by the professional crew members on board the vessel;
Comply with the safety regulations on board the vessel;
Respect the vessel and its equipment, as well as the professional crew and other passengers;
Accept that each voyage is a fun sailing adventure; accept that you will be directly involved and will receive instructions on the vessel's maneuvers, steering, and daily duties;
Ensure that all persons under the age of 18 have completed parental consent forms;
Accept that anyone aged 14 or younger will be considered a passenger.
Accept that while the captain will do their best to meet your expectations and the trip description as advertised, Grayhound Ventures AB cannot be held responsible if these are not met, for whatever reason;
Acknowledge and agree that the videos and photos you take on Grayhound may be used by Grayhound Ventures AB for any marketing and social media promotions;
A reasonable level of physical and mental fitness is required to sail on Grayhound. Therefore, if you or any member of your group suffer from any medical conditions that may affect your physical or mental health and safety during the trip (e.g., heart problems, epilepsy, diabetes, or psychological illness), or if you are taking any medication that may be affected by seasickness, you must disclose all such information to us at the time of booking. This information will be kept confidential until the end of your trip. Failure to disclose their condition may result in their disembarkation for their own safety. In this case, we will not provide any refunds or be liable for any expenses incurred.
Grayhound is not wheelchair accessible.
INSURANCE
As a passenger, you understand that you must be covered by a comprehensive insurance policy. This policy must cover emergency expenses, including medical treatment, repatriation, and travel disruption.
Your travel insurance policy must provide you with financial protection if you have to cancel or cut short your vacation. It must cover all medical or transportation expenses, as well as loss or damage to baggage. If you have annual travel insurance or coverage with your credit or debit card, please check your policy carefully to ensure it covers sailing/cruising/yachting, and in particular, navigation more than 60 nautical miles from shore.
Accidents or injuries directly attributable to Grayhound or its professional crew are covered by Grayhound Ventures AB's liability insurance. Liability may need to be proven.
If you miss boarding because your Grayhound trip is canceled or delayed, or for any other reason, and the trip still takes place, Grayhound Ventures AB will not reimburse your travel expenses. You must ensure that this situation is covered by your insurer.
LIABILITY
Sailing can be a particularly dangerous activity in bad weather; and severe weather conditions may occur at any time during a trip. Grayhound Ventures AB is not liable for: any damage to or loss of your personal belongings; or any personal injury you may suffer as a direct, indirect, or economic consequence of, or in connection with, the specified trip.
Grayhound's captain and professional crew are not responsible for the vessel's failure to complete its intended voyage or program, whether due to extreme weather conditions, mechanical breakdown at sea, or any other cause beyond the control of Grayhound Ventures AB or any person for whom Grayhound Ventures AB is legally responsible.
All information we collect about you will be used carefully, legally, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
